12月29日 Stream Media From Your PC Via PS3 To Your PSPThe Current Generation of Consoles are Powerful Machines and Carry a Lot of Features so Sometimes it's a Little Hard to Keep Track of All They Can do. Here's One Feature a Lot of you May Not Have Been Aware of but, May Find it Useful: Stream Media to your PSP from your PC via PlayStation 3.
To do this, you'll Need to Connect your PC to a PlayStation 3 Console to Act as the Bridge. Using the 'Digital Living Network Alliance' (a.k.a. 'DLNA'), your PS3 Can Connect to your PC and Share Media. Then with 'Remote Play' Functionality, you Can Stream the Media to your PSP. First off, you'll Need to Connect the PlayStation 3 to your PC's Home Network (you Can Use an Ethernet Cable for this if your Connection isn't Wireless). Here are the Instructions from 'Sony's', Eric Lempel on How to Connect it:
- On your PC, enable “Media Sharing” on 'Windows Media Player 11' and allow sharing with the Playstation 3 (it may be labeled as an “unknown device”).
- On your PlayStation 3, turn on “Media Server Connection” under 'Network Settings'. PS3 will automatically search for media servers on the same home network, or you can scan for them manually.
- Your PC and media files will pop up under the Photo/Music/Video XMB icons.
After that, you Just Need to Stream your Favourite Files to your PSP from your PlayStation 3 via 'Wi-Fi'. Note that you'll Need at Least PlayStation 3's, 'Firmware v1.80' for this to Happen, but of Course 'Firmware v2.10' Would be the Better Choice for Media Playing because of the New 'DivX' Support.
Here's the Official Information at the US 'PlayStation' Blog:

'Quake 3' Server For Your PSPPocket-Sized Servers, May Not be All the Rage, but it's Certainly Making a Scene Thanks to 'Sony's' Seemingly Multipurpose, PSP Handheld. Homebrew Developer, 'emvivre', Got Hold of the Server Code of 'id Software's', 'Quake III Arena' and Achieved Partial Server Functionality on a Sony PSP. The Result ? Enter PSP Quake 3 Server.
The Issue Stands, however, that as a Server There's Bound to be a Performance Bottleneck that'll Rear its Ugly Head Once a Certain Number of Players Join in, so PSP Quake 3 Server is Not Exactly the Powerhouse Server Type. Also Understand that, Not only Processing Power is the Likely Hitch here: Dev. 'emvivre' also Had to Optimize Q3's Code for PSP Memory Limitation and it Has yet to Meet the Developer's "Fully Optimized" Threshold. According to the Developer, Maps "q3dm11", "q3dm12", "q3ctf2" and "q3ctf" Don't Work and the Port Doesn't Have a User-Friendly UI to Set up the Configuration. Interested Administrators will Have to Wrestle with the Settings inside q3config.cfg. Sony's PlayStation Portable also Achieves its Interconnectivity via Wireless Networking Means; thus, Special Procedures are Needed to Set up those Connections and Allow PSP Quake 3 Server to Utilize them. Coder 'emvivre' also Adds that the Server was Only Tested (and Proven Functional) on PSP Firmware v1.5, so Those who Can Test the Server, May Freely do so and Confirm 'Custom Firmware' Support for the Author. We say "Can" because the Author Respected the 'GPL' Terms of id Software, so the Archive Does Not Contain id Software's original Quake 3 Content. Users will Have to Dust off their Copies of Quake 3 (Mine is Not on the Dust but Pretty Active yet) to Complete the Packs, or perhaps Head over to 'Open Arena' for User Created Ones.
There's a Separate Version that Offers Most Data Packs Except for the Main One: pak0.pk3. Take Care to Read through the README File for more Instructions on How to Setup Connections and Run the Server.

12月22日 Japan: PSP Sales Double, Beats WiiAs is the Norm, 'Nintendo' DS was the Best-Selling System, with Sales up almost 55,000 Week-over-Week. However, it was PSP Sales, which Rocketed by 93,000 Units, that were Most Surprising, Especially Considering that Only One PSP Title Made the Latest Japanese Software Chart - 'Hot Shots Golf Portable 2' at #19. Wii Sales Shot up by over 50,000 Units as PlayStation 3 Sales Slumped Dramatically. PlayStation 2 Sales Witnessed a Less Significant Fall, while XBox 360 Sales were in Line with the Previous Week's Figures.

The Reason ? Japanese PSP Owners May now Download the PSP Media Manager for FREE, Courtesy of Sony's, 'PLAYSTATION Store'.
It Would Seem that the U.S. has Gotten the Short End of the Stick again, but that May Not Necessarily be the Case. You See, while the Instructions are in Japanese, the Odd Thing about is that the Japanese Version of the PSP Media manager Runs in English. And Yes, even Non-Japanese Customers May Download the Software as well, so All you Really Have to do is Make it through the Japanese Language Installation Somehow. Unfortunately, this will Probably be a Cause for Uproar among Sony's U.S. Customers who Actually Forked over their Hard-Earned Dough in Order to Purchase the Software, but at Least U.S. PSP Owners who May Have Thought Twice about Buying it Before, Can now Try it out for FREE. To Download the Japanese 'PSP Media Manager', just Follow the Source Link ahead:

Record TV Through Your PSP'Sony Japan' Announced Today, Plans for a Year-End Firmware Update for the Japanese PSP that will Add some Major Functionality to the System just in Time for Christmas.
On 12/18, Japanese PSP Owners will be Able to Download the Version 3.8 Update. This Update Adds the following Features:
BB Mobile Point Demos
When in the vicinity of an access point for Yahoo BB Mobile Point, a paid wireless internet service that's available at 3,500 retail and public locations throughout Japan, you'll be able to access the PlayStation Spot retail download service directly from your PSP. This will give you access to demos of upcoming games. This service appears to be available even to those who aren't subscribers to the BB Mobile Point service, as you won't be prompted for an SSID/WEP key, ID, or password.
Record Television Programs
Those with the PSP's 1seg tuner will be able to record television programs to their Memory Stick Duo. Some programs will allow you to flag them in advance for recording as you browse the 1seg channel guide. Once it's done recording, the PSP will automatically enter sleep mode. This feature will not allow you to record multiple programs at one time, nor will you be able to watch a program while recording another. Game and internet functionality of the system will also be inaccessible during recording sessions.
Internet Radio Compatibility
You'll be able to listen to streaming internet radio broadcasts through an Internet Radio Player.
Two of these Features Appear to be Specific to the Japanese Market, so we'll Have to Wait for the Official Announcement to See What's in the v3.8 Update for Regions Outside of Japan.
Rumor: 'PSP Phone' Revealed In VideoWe Found this New Vid over at 'YouTube', Claiming that UK Publication, 'Stuff' Magazine has Finally Revealed the Elusive 'PlayStation Portable Phone', a Long-Rumored Collaboration between 'Sony's' PlayStation Department and 'Sony Ericsson'.
The Owner of the Video Mentioned that he was Unable to Read the Contents of the Article so What he Did was just Took a Quick and Short Clip of the Page. It Looks Legit Alright but One Has to Consider the 'AIBO' News we Ran a few Days Ago. According to their Article about the Robot Dog, There's a Probability that Sony is Resurrecting AIBO as 'Sony AIBO PS' and is Making it Compatible with the PlayStation 3 and PSP. The Staff of the Publication said it Has a 50% Probability of Becoming True. Now, this 'PSP Phone' is Similar to that AIBO Bit - Speculations and Probabilities and Not Actual Confirmation. But with All these Rumors Coming from Stuff Magazine, One Can Never Really Tell if it Knows Something we All Don't. Check this Video, here:
